Each year, the program selects researchers and scholars from all over the world to reside at Princeton University for an academic year and to participate in research and discussion on a common topic that is determined each year. The number of candidates selected depends on the applicants’ overall qualifications. All candidates must be from outside the United States. Candidates will be considered in three categories:

The Center for Ballet and Arts (CBA) offers a residency fellowship program for artists and researchers in various disciplines to work on projects that broaden the way we think about dance history, practice, and performance. Applicants are not required to be experts in dance but they must have interests in the various genres of the arts.

Free Online Courses The applicant must be a researcher or artist undertaking a project related to dance. Previous fellows were from wide-ranging disciplines such as history, design, philosophy, visual arts, religion, literature, and more.
Applicants applying for scientific projects such as newspaper articles and studies must have a PhD.
Free Online Courses Applicants must demonstrate exceptional potential or significant achievements in their field and the center encourages people in all their career stages to apply.
No experience in dancing is required.
Free Online Courses Applicants who are considered students until September 2021 are not eligible to apply.
Fellowship Duration:
The timing and duration of the fellowship will depend on the needs of the individual fellows and the scope of the projects. Previous fellowships lasted between four and sixteen weeks. Free Online Courses

Note: The center cannot currently commit to financing cooperating people, and if a colleague decides to work with other people such as designers, musicians or dancers, he must pay them from his own money.

Projects that focus on the applicant’s personal notes or résumé.

Editing of movies or book excerpts.
