After the probationary period (31/12/2020) : Businesses and organizations established in the United Kingdom but not in the European Union, citizens of the United Kingdom who are not residents of a European Member State and residents of the United Kingdom who are not citizens European (hereinafter UK Registrants ) will no longer have the right to maintain a .eu domain name.

For new patents:
From 1 January 2020 EURid will not allow the registration of new .eu domains in UK Registrants .
It will also not allow the transfer, nor the transfer through renewal, of .eu domain to UK Registrars.

On 1 January 2021 all HB registrants as well as their providers will lose their rights unless they comply with the new .eu regulatory framework and renew their registration details before 31 December 2020. This can be done by the indication of an entity legally established in one of the Member States, informing their address of residence in a Member State or proving their naturalization in a Member State of the European Union regardless of their place of residence.
Consequently, on 1 January 2021 the .eu domains of UK registrants who do not comply with the above will cease to operate and will not support active services (website, email).
Twelve months after the end of the transition period, all domains affected by Brexit will be made available for registration.

Citizens of a Member State of the European Union residing in the United Kingdom may hold .eu domain names. All they have to do is update their registration details to prove their European citizenship.
UK citizens residing in a Member State of the European Union are eligible to retain .eu domain names after the end of the transitional period. By contrast, UK citizens who do not reside in a Member State of the European Union are not entitled to retain .eu domain names after the end of the transitional period.
